Today we were visited by the Bishop and Archdeacon, along with children from Lee Mount Primary and members of The British Legion and our community and congregation, to plant Poppies in memory of those who gave their lives in World War I. This was a wonderfully poignant event, fittingly taking place in the recently renovated graveyard garden. Refreshments were provided by the Mother's Union.
Church member Joan Zarneh commented, "It was a lovely occasion. The children made it special. They knew a lot about the war and were excited to plant the poppies."
Thank you to all who came along to this very special occasion.
